"The heritage hotel is newly renovated, so as you’re welcomed you’ll see the space has been really nicely done and feels modern whilst also keeping the heritage of the original space. It’s in a pretty good location, with local street food around the corner and a short Grab to the centre of Penang. The rooms were clean and had all the amenities you should need, with room turnaround also available. They also offer laundry service (but much cheaper to get done in the centre). Generally we really liked this hotel as it was clean, comforting room but we found one thing strange - they asked us to remove our wet clothes and towels from the balcony area. They offered a solution to bring a rack up, but it never turned up so we had to let our clothes dry on the balcony floor. This was ultimately fine - I just felt this was very style over substance and why did it really matter we were drying our stuff? It also felt like we were being watched as when I went outside, a staff member was looking up to our balcony. I personally found this strange but I guess it’s their hotel policy. Overall though, this was a nice hotel and also offered decent drinks and food at a cost."

"Everything was good with the hotel it just not much to do quite, we had to cross the bridge to the other side of penang which it around 20 minutes and 20 min to go back with no traffic"

"The hotel was well located within the centre of Penang with a good selection of restaurants and cafés all within walking distance. The staff both at reception and also cleaning were excellent in particular a staff member who took care of my room who goes by the name of Harun was a lovely chap who could not do enough for us. We felt very welcomed throughout our day and would recommend the granite hotel to future visitors of Penang."
