"I booked an Ocean View room at Royal Lahaina Resort, but the room we received only had a partial side-view of the ocean from the right side of the building. In my opinion, this should not be advertised or sold as a true ocean view room. When someone books ocean view, they expect the ocean to be clearly visible from the room, not only from an angle. Unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing, especially because we informed the hotel in advance that we were celebrating our honeymoon. The hotel acknowledged our email and said they would do their best to make our stay memorable. However, when we arrived, there was absolutely nothing special in the room, and the view immediately killed the excitement for both me and my wife. It truly felt like the wrong decision to book this property for such an important occasion. The room itself did not feel modern or luxurious. Amenities were very basic, and the coffee machine in the room was filthy, which was unacceptable for a resort that presents itself as a 4-star property. The service also did not meet expectations. Several staff members at the front desk and around the resort came across as rude and unwelcoming. A resort at this level should train staff properly on how to speak to guests with respect and hospitality. Based on my experience, this does not feel like a true 4-star resort. It feels heavily marketed online, but the actual guest experience did not match the expectations created during booking."

"The breakfast buffet was good room was nice and clean the staff was amazing so helpful always ready to greet you with a smile and we loved the activity’s provided on site kids had so much fun feeding the koi getting hula lessons and playing bingo would definitely stay there again!"

"The rooms were clean and the staff were all super nice and sweet. We had a Mountain View which was very beautiful and peaceful. If you want to people watch and have a little more noise get the other views. Ocean views were always beautiful right from the hotel which is directly on the beach. Great snorkeling is just a 5 minute walk on the boardwalk. Equipment can be rented from the hotel or the local suppliers if you need prescription goggles. There are several pools in the property for families and adults only which was nice because we didn’t bring kids but were totally unbolt the children that were there. The hotel has nice restaurants on the property which is a little expensive but very good. Just make sure to have reservations or you will be waiting. The concierge desk was very helpful for planning trips and excursions even those not associated directly with the hotel. So definitely stop by with any questions and ask for activities at the hotel. We took a basket weaving class and exercise classes on the property that were really good. They offer breakfast for an additional price we did not get it since we are not big breakfast people but I am sure it was nice. Because of the recent fires and floods in the area this is one of the best areas on Maui and it did not disappoint "

"We have stayed at the Mahana many times, views are the best! Whales, turtles, stingrays, and an occasional dolphin, and just steps to the beach and sunshine! We did not end up with the room they showed online, our view was still wonderful but the 2nd bathroom needed some updates as the shower head at full tilt hit my chest, not a deal breaker but didn't need to limbo every morning to wash my hair. Other than that room was perfect clean and we had a great stay, as always will be back and stay at the Mahana! Stay here you won't be disappointed. "

"Rooms were clean and amazing, views are beautiful. The room has EVERYTHING you need, we went for the studio as there were just 2 of us and it was perfect for us! Staff was accommodating and friendly, parking was easy and lots of stalls available light be due to we visiting during the “off” season. Loved that the resort was quiet!! So nice. One thing about booking on EXPEDIA- EXPEDIA charges you a “resort fee” but you will also pay an Amenity fee at the resort, amenity fee is clearly outlined why and what you get for it- totally understandable however expedias “resort fee” not sure what that’s about."
