"Not sure what all the bad reviews are about, but this place is pretty sweet. Well kept, beautiful place. Our rooms (101 102) were stunning. They have that log cabin feel. The bathroom was a bit smelly, but I think that’s because of the sulfer in the water. I put a wet cloth over the drain, and it was fine. Fantastic “common area” and the amenities were great. Plus you get a solid continental breakfast. Very cozy. Self check- in was after 4pm as described, where you call the number they have...

"March 2024 - Very nice place to lodge away from it all. Pleasant warm rooms and amenities including hot tub and sauna. Be prepared for the wind. Breakfast was great. "Stayed two nights a the Hotel Ranga and so glad that my wife and I added the extra day. The restaurant was all that we expected and more and a great place to spend a cold windy night in the South. It’s also only an hour or so from Reykjavik so well worth the drive for the high quality authentic Icelandic cuisine. Rooms are very comfortable and many have access to one of two outdoor hot tubs. Location also very convenient to main attractions. "

Hotel is off the beaten path, but is very quiet with beautiful scenery and excellent viewing location for the northern lights and star gazing (very little light pollution). Food is very good. "Large, clean and spacious 2 bedroom house. We didn't really use the kitchen but it seemed well stocked. The bathroom was clean and there is a washing machine. It is about a 10 min drive from the main highway and there is a good restaurant at a nearby campground that is a 5 min drive away. Grocery store and gas station 10 min away at the main highway. The only complaint I have is the towels were small thin and scratchy. Otherwise great stay!"
