"Some of the basics were not provided on our stay so really wasn't worth the money. Communication - didn't receive the check-in details by email as instructions said. The day before the stay I tried to contact the host multiple ways, including Hotels.com support x 2, with no luck. Eventually on the day of the stay I was told I would get the information at 12pm. At around 1pm I had not received the information so chased again. Was finally given the information at 2pm but was rudely told that...

We didn’t get access to the property until nearly 18:30 after Expedia started looking for relocation options as we couldn’t get the host to respond and had no address or access information. It was a very stressful few hours. They blamed some breakdown in the supply chain. We booked with Expedia who contracted to TravelNest who passed to Idyllic cottages who passed to the owner. "I made a booking for this house but a day before my trip the house I was staying in got swapped for another after the cancellation period. We arrived at the property and it was unclean with a smell of cigarettes, rotting chicken and rotting vegetables. The sheets were not clean, the tub was dirty and the toilet was filthy. All the provided cookware such as mugs were disgusting. It was such a bad smell that we couldn’t sleep so we left at 3 AM"
