"1) Checkin details were not provided - I had to contact Hotels.com and wait ±1hr outside in the windy street to get these. Checkin was 4pm but I couldnt get in until 90 mins later. 2) Once inside the building; Entrance hall filthy with full black bags in corner, wall staining, filthy carpets, laundry cages strewn. "Property was okay, there was staining around shower basin seals and rust where the toilet brush etc had not been replaced in a LONG time. Glad I brought my own kitchen utensils with me as everything at the property was damaged. Couldn’t even leave a fresh dish sponge for a new stay so questioned how clean the place actually was. "Be aware that this is a residential property without your own entrance. It is in a shabby and unsafe feeling part of town and the pictures are not representative of the property at all. Owners uncontactable in any way. As a single traveller, I did not stay here as i felt very unsafe on arrival. "Safe parking area, lucky to get spaces as small carpark and busy; Staff really helpful and friendly; Dinner was fabulous. Breakfast so so. Room was lovely, very quiet. Shower really good. Spa was fabulous, would have been nice to have been shown each station and that there was an ordinary shower to shower off after the steam/sauna rooms (it was stuck on scalding hot when I was in there the first day). But generally great stay - and I've booked again when I travel for my next course in the area. "

"Location & appearance stunning. Interior decoration was period and sympathetic for the age of the property. Staff were polite well dressed & at tentative to your needs. Spa was well appointed, only slight drawback was you need to get the lift up to the spa which unfortunately was out of order, so needed to walk the stairs to reach it. If you ask at the main hall bar/dinning area you can even have a small tour under the premises to the wine cellar & rooms. We look forward to visiting again."
