"Thls little resort is a family run business. Shekhar and his family make you feel so welcome. His Wife and Daughter do the cooking and are amazing Cooks and Bakers. " I had hoped to lose some weight on my trip" but with such great meals I didn’t..... WIFI is available and included. Beautiful valley views from the rooms I was in. I was in two, a smaller one which is what I paid for. But after 3 days they upgraded me to a larger room at no cost."

"Extremely comfortable stay with gorgeous view of the mountains. Staff were very helpful. However, there was a large touring group in the hotel and our left luggage was mixed up with theirs and it was a mess. The baggage tag did not have the number of baggages and we had to drive back to collect one. Thank goodness that we remembered in time and didn’t drive far."

"The staff at Hotel Vajra are lovely....helpful, friendly and full of advice. The food is fine, with a good buffet style breakfast and eggs cooked to order. The garden setting gives some tranquillity amid the very busy Kathmandu streets, and the craftsmanship and historic feel to the hotel are highlights. Second time I have visited this hotel -and I would recommend it to others."

Their driver picked me up from the airport, which is especially helpful for first-time visitors. The hotel's complimentary breakfast was also quite good; I even saw a person paying for breakfast, even though he wasn’t a guest there. The rooms are quite light at night - there’s an odd “night light” that you can’t turn off (we covered it in pillows, it’s just by the door at ground level). You also aren’t allowed to bring in any food or drink from outside at all (like nothing) or the “hotel will fine you” which seemed a bit extreme. They do provide 2 bottles of water a day though which...

"We stayed in the suite 902. The wifi did not work for most of our stay. The electric outlets are so loose your charger does not stay in the wall you have to prop up the bottom of the charger with a book or glass to keep it from falling out of the socket. The light switches are in odd locations, for example to turn on the bathroom light you have to go to the far side of the room to a group of switches by the bedside and turn on all lights. The coffee offered in the room was nescafe packets. ...
