"Very friendly staff. Hotel lobby has lockers, luggage storage and a fire place. The room is good and has plenty of space. They told me the tap water is drinkable but it tasted funny."

"This "hotel" is one step above a hostel. It's basically a college dorm. The women's bathroom had 1 working toilet. Other 2 stalls said out of order. The beds were very uncomfortable and metal bed frames were very squeaky. 90% of the guests were under 25, at most. Two stars, 1 for breakfast was pretty good. 2 for location. "

There are both private and shared onsens you can take advantage of, complimentary happy hour drinks and snacks, massage chairs, and a complimentary shuttle that you can reserve spots on to take you through the town and slopes! "Amazing traditional Japanese style room. Dated but very clean and comfortable with ski run views! The Onsen was great after a day skiing. The dinner and breakfast was excellent and included in the price ….. not fine dining but wholesome and something for everyone. Would definitely recommend. "

"About a 5 minute walk from the main gondola at Tsugaike Kogen, and a 15 minute taxi ride from JR Hakuba station. Overall I would say the location is very good if you are looking for proximity to a ski resort without the late night hustle and bustle of Echoland/Happo One. Tsugaike Kogen is a very beginner friendly resort. Also closeby to the Hakuba Valley Shuttle (7 min walk). Restaurant selection in the area is decent! The public baths in this hotel are relatively quiet during off peak hours and a nice treat after a ski day - but with the size of the indoor and outdoor baths I can imagine it can feel crowded once 6+ people are there. The rooms are a very nice size and very clean. Bed is a bit firm but overall a comfortable stay. Daily breakfast is nice and offers a small variety of foods - mostly Japanese foods but some western items as well (cereal, french fries, yogurt, bread). "
