"This hotel is outdated and poorly maintained. Although it’s marketed as a full-service hotel, housekeeping isn’t actually provided - despite a sign in the room directing guests to call reception for it. When we called, our request was ignored. We also found bugs in our bed and reported it, but nothing was done. I’d strongly recommend avoiding this hotel; it falls well below acceptable standards in Australia."

"Being winter there was no extra blankets. Air conditioner cut in and out every 5-10 minutes so the room didn’t stay warm. There were very rowdy people in other rooms carrying on till late in the night."

"The owners were great even let us late check out without extra charge due to circumstances. They were friendly and the cleaning staff were amazing with our little ones also. only thing I could say is the parking spaces are tight so if the place is full and u have a bigger car get in early or u will struggle a bit but luckily it wasn’t completly full so still 3-4 spaces left."

Unfortunately, reception at Mercure to collect key and when speaking on the phone to Amarn, my experience was not good. Abrupt, short and could not explain why the situation occured."

"Travelled with my husband and two toddlers (1 and 2.5 year old) and we really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and beds were so comfortable. Loved the big open area and the kids enjoyed running around. We loved the farm animals! My kids were obsessed! Definitely will come back so we can do more activities at the resort when they’re older."

For the price charged, I expected a much better standard of accommodation. "We had a wonderful stay at voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley as a family of four. The beautiful grounds, spacious rooms, and family-friendly atmosphere made it the perfect getaway. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the breakfast was excellent. A relaxing experience in a stunning location—we’d happily stay again!"
