"A brilliant cottage perfect for what we wanted very modern, clean, private, felt like home! It was really nice to get back to the cottage after a long day of walking and site seeing. Really easy to find using a sat nav and no trouble with the country roads or conditions of the roads to get there as seen in another review so don’t let that put you off booking! Nice little bonus of milk and cookies on arrival which was great as we arrived quite late without supplies so could still have a cuppa...

"We have used Hotels.com many times and Sykes cottages a number of times this past year al very good and this was excellent. The booking was easy but the owner of this cottage was excellent in communication and instructions ( Gaynor ) there isn’t enough I could say and we had the privilege of meeting her when she did midweek check on jacuzzi. "Our stay was such a mixed bag it’s hard not to leave a middling review. Everything was a “positive but…” that could be improved to make The Nest a superb choice. The apartment was beyond clean but… we found a huge shard of glass under the single bed (our 7-year-old found it, thankfully unhurt). It does sleep 4 easily but… the second bedroom doesn’t fit both singles, the sofa isn’t a sofa bed, and the living room curtains don’t shut fully. Inventory had most things but… no iron, board or hair...

"The property was of a basic nature and very tired in places. The bathroom paint was peeling off the walls. The bed was a small queen bed that wasn't big enough for 2 adults to get a good night sleep. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. Due to this we left the property early and had to book a hotel. I also tried to contact the property as advised by Sykes cottages, but my calls were unanswered and not returned. Overall a disappointing stay. There are plenty of better rentals available."

"Everything about our stay at Saughall Mill Farm Cottage was first class; communication, welcome basket, cleanliness, quality accommodation, lovely spacious garden. All in all a very successful stay and we would thoroughly recommend."
