"Excellent location close to beach, eatery access. Hotel decor is a bit outdated for a 4 star hotel, the room we stayed at was more like a 3 star hotel. Carpet and flooring needs regular cleaning. room is dusty. We stayed at the Makai. Hotel area is huge. If you have mobility issues it may be hard to get around by foot. They do have Tram train to get around hotel.but very slow."

"Beautiful stay, with 5 minute walk to snorkel and surf beach! Spacious room with beautiful shared spaces and the laundry option was nice to have. A little off the beaten path too which was perfect for my husband and I. 10/10 recommend."

"We stayed at this hotel for three days, and while the location is absolutely fantastic—close to plenty of dining options and shopping areas—the experience was sadly let down by our rooms. We booked three rooms, and all of them were on the ground floor, right next to the swimming pool. The humidity level near the pool area is extremely high, and as a result, all three rooms had a very noticeable mildew/musty smell. "Booked ocean view room. 1st room had bugs. Moved us to a room where the air conditioning was not working. Moved us to a 3rd room with a parking lot view. Was offered to change the room the next day for an ocean view. We did not want to move again and risk it, so they waived our parking fees. Overall we were quite happy. Staff were great. Breakfast was good."
