Was a little surprised about no fridge or microwave in the room but we were told at check in they would bring one up if we needed…which makes sense from their perspective. "The staff was very friendly, check in/out was easy, and the hotel is very charming. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel was quiet. We parked in the loading zone to check in, and then they pointed us to a condo parking garage nearby which had valet service and in/out. The building itself was older (but recently renovated it seemed), but it was a unique departure from the run-of-the-mill corporate hotels that we'd normally stay at. "The apartment was nice enough. It was clean and quiet. Staff was available when I had questions. However, the furniture, particularly the sofa and mattresses were not very nice at all. The master bedroom mattress had remnants of being a firm bed at one time but as since broken down and is incredibly lumpy and unsupportive. Woke up sore every morning. "The perfect home base for a quick trip to see a Cubs game. You won’t find a friendlier or less expensive place this close to Wrigley and the lake. The close proximity to the Red Line L puts the entire city in reach for those non- baseball outings and site seeing. The North Halsted neighborhood, while maybe not for everyone, is such a vibrant and welcoming place. We will be back!"

"If you stay at Hawthorn Terrace be prepared for doors slamming all hours of the night. Especially if you’re stuck on the floor. The staff closets and small breakfast room are there. Very annoying the way they stand out side the rooms talking and as I said slamming doors as they bring carts out. For the price there are way better experiences. I like to stay there because it’s close to my daughter’s house but next time will probably look into a different place. Just not worth the price."

"I enjoyed my stay here. Clean room, well maintained property and great location just 3 miles from Chicago. The best part was the friendly staff. The breakfast was a 4.5 out 5, just adequate foe the day's need, nothing super special. I would definitely return."

"Good location. Modern spacious and well maintained. Our bed was hard as a rock and the AC blew constantly and somewhat noisily in our room. Could hear staff and guests in the hall."

"Overall nice setup, continental breakfast with many options, concern is the amount that Expedia charged us at $212 didn’t mention another $175 paid/refundable deposit fee. So we paid initially $378. Was not expecting this, and the owner said it would take 7 to 10 business days to pay us back the deposit. Parking was a problem too, very narrow streets with cars bumper to bumper. But again, nice amenities and close to everything."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Robey! The best part was the staff at the front desk. Super friendly and helpful. They even sent up a complimentary bottle of wine for my husband's birthday and they were very helpful as we planned our Chicago exploring adventure!"

Even though my reservation was correct, hotel recorded incorrect dates and did not have a room ready for me at check in. Requested I pay additional for an "extra night" instead of correcting the dates on their end. Then asked me to check out the next morning and check back in for the current booking. Took over an hour to sort out."
