Hôtel Le Donjon - Coeur de la Cité Médiévale
10/10 Excellent
"We had an amazing time at Hotel Le Donjon!
We got a taxi from Carcassonne airport to the city gates and then walked to the hotel from there as the city centre is car free. The staff were immediately incredibly welcoming and our room was ready early so we could drop our bags off straight away. The hotel is the perfect location for exploring Carcassonne as it really is right in the heart of it, with shops, cafes and restaurants as well as the entrance the the castle itself on the hotel doorstep.
We stayed in a family suite which was perfect for our family of four, with our 10 and 6 year old. There were two separate beds for the kids which we found really handy as many places only offer a sofa bed for children to share.
The hotel has a lovely courtyard garden with tables and chairs which made a perfect quiet space when we needed a break from exploring.
The breakfast was delicious and again the staff were friendly and welcoming. 3 out of 4 of us are vegetarian and there was lots of range for us all to enjoy - fussy kids included!
On the day we left, we checked out but were able to leave our bags with reception for a couple of hours until our shuttle to our next stop. They also were very helpful recommending a suitable supermarket for us to stop at for supplies later that day."

Hôtel du Château & Spa Gemology
8/10 Good
"This a charming boutique hotel right in front of the main gate of the citadel. We really enjoyed our stay and we can only praise the staff and the quality of the hotel.
Our only slight disappointment was the layout of the room and what we have seen it seems that they all share the same flaws. While the quality, cleanliness and space was there, we found the room crowded and badly designed. For example there is only one small table that is overloaded with a coffeemaker, a lamp and a pile of documents about everything and anything. That the easy one to fix. The bathroom is weirdly designed, same feeling it seems the architect wanted to put all possible things in a too small area for that. You have a shower, a bath, a toilet and a double sink in a space of 2.5 by 3 meters. It doesn’t really fit, leading with a tiny shower and the toilet right in front of it and no space to circulate between the sinks and the bath."

Hotel l'Aragon, à 50m de la cité de Carcassonne
10/10 Excellent
"A great find and fantastic value for money. Dont be put off by 3* rating as staff couldn't be more helpful, location is prime for the Citie."

Hôtel Du Pont Vieux

"Very nice room, large, very clean, comfortable bed. Amazing view of the castle from the roof! Parking is a bit of a pain, but manageable. "

Premiere Classe Carcassonne
10/10 Excellent
"This hotel is not for luxury travellers, but it's clean, the staff is excellent, and it's close to the airport. The parking lot is secured overnight by a gate (they give guests the code), and although the rooms are small, they have everything you need. I especially appreciated the blackout curtains that work better than any I've ever had before. I would definitely stay here again."

Mercure Carcassonne la Cite Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Room was clean, breakfast was great (apart from the pod coffee machine not working very well), late check out at 12.00 was really helpful and staff were really friendly at the reception desk and at breakfast. The pool wasn’t open which was a shame as it was 26 degrees whilst we were there. I would definitely stay there again as it was so close to the medieval city. "

Hotel de la Cité Carcassonne - MGallery Collection
