"To start the trip, the staff at the front desk was lovely which made our initial impression positive. As we entered the villa there were ants on the counter tops and in the bathroom. As our stay progressed, the ant infestation got progressively worse. We finally decided to speak to the receptionists, where they told us it was our fault for not coming earlier to report the problem. A man entered our room without us knowing to clean out the ants. They did not give us any compensation for this....

"Fantastic hotel, great location, superb food and excellent staff - especially Sarka in the outside bar (Zumeria Bebia) and Luis in the Beach Club restaurant. I would highly recommend!"

"I did not get info on how to get in and out of the hotel. The concierge is not always there! I had to ring my own taxi on leaving and it was difficult to re-access the building to pick up my baggage as I don't speak Spanish. The room was very tired in decor with multiple scrapes around the doors. It vibrated with the sound of the fridge (?). The only plus was the 6 minute walk to the beach. No breakfast. No snacks. Very basic."

"The breakfast buffet was excellent, with hardly anything missing that you could possibly want. Plenty of Sun beds even though the weather wasn't brilliant and about a 15x mins walk to the local shops and restaurants. Nice Italian restaurant in house and the buffet dinner menus were extensive"

Un seul bemol, les rues sont etroites, il est mieux d'avoir un petit vehicule. Les proprietaires cubains font aussi restaurant. Ils etaient en vacances pendant notre sejour et le restaurant etait fermé mais la carte semblait allechante. "We had a fantastic stay at the Barcelo hotel in Tenerife and would happily return. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. A special mention has to go to the entertainment team, who brought so much energy and fun to each day, and the bar staff, who were always friendly, attentive, and quick with a smile. "No staff at all to help with check in. No heat in the rooms and it’s freezing. Half the power was out in the room. No maintenance personnel to deal with power being out. Online checking took way longer than it should because their system kept failing. Pretty disappointing. This place has the potential to be really good if it was managed properly. Disappointed. "
