"My room was basic and small but priced accordingly for the area. Totally comfortable with a single bed and its own bathroom with shower stall. No elevator which didn’t bother me. Parking in site fills up to capacity every night. Great location to explore the region or use the ferry to get to Skye. Manager was very responsive and accommodating. Good dining room and menu. Would stay again especially again."
"Nearly £500 a night, but a complete lack of hospitality
We stayed for one night at Hotel Eilean Iarmain, paying £496.57 for our suite and breakfast. While the setting is beautiful, the service and management response were completely unacceptable for a hotel at this luxury price point.
At dinner (which was not included in the room rate), my wife's bread for her bouillabaisse was served burnt. By the time it was replaced she had finished the dish, had she waited it would have gone completely cold. We raised it with the waitress, but no gesture of goodwill was offered. The real disappointment, however, was at checkout. When I brought this up to the manager, expecting a professional apology or a small deduction from the bill, he dismissively told me I "have to understand the kitchen was busy."
When you are paying nearly £500 a night, a busy kitchen is not the guest's problem; it is a management issue. The complete lack of accountability or goodwill over a spoiled dining experience showed very poor hospitality standards. Extremely disappointing."
"Proper stay for a night or two. Very friendly welcome at the bar. Room was recently renovated with a good mattress and clean bathroom.
Improvement points: Hallway to the rooms smells to smoking. Service at breakfast could be improved, the lady seemed in a bad mood."
"Great property. Note that it is about an hour from most key points on Skye….Portree, Talisker, quairang and not many dining options.
Pick up groceries at the coop in Broadford."
"very friendly staff here. it is very quiet on this section of the Isle, but you are close to everywhere you will want to go. the property has plenty of parking. it is a historic, older property, so the is no AC or lift. the breakfast room is really nice and a good spot to rest in the AM."
"This is a beautiful place to stay. The view is spectacular. Rooms were clean and the staff was amazing. The only issue was that we expected a tv, but didn't have one. But found out that we didn't need it after all.
That was the only reason I gave it 4 stars."
