The water is so clear at Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park

In photography, much of it is knowledge and planning. However, sometimes you need a dose of luck. Such a thing happened here. When we were heading to Avalanche Lake for a hike the surface was rippled with the breeze but, a few hours later on our way back to our accommodation, it was as a millpond. Couldn't believe my luck as I set up the tripod to capture this exposure.
