"Beautiful property with tasteful decor and a real homely feel. The car park is a real convenience right beside the hotel. Our room was immaculate and with a very large, very comfortable bed. A gorgeous view of the hills from the window really set the scene. The room also had a bath which was a bonus. Breakfast was delightful and with a good variety of options, including avocado sourdough toast. A brief walk into the centre of Ambleside to the bars and restaurants, not far at all. We had a lovely stay here."
"Value for money…. The rooms are not the cheapest, but they are worth the money.
From start to finish the say was perfect. The staff were super friendly and went out of their way to welcome you. We wished we had stayed another night and will definitely come back. The food and selection for breakfast was great and they accommodated our miniature poodle throughout our stay with a special welcome basket on arrival. All in all a wonderful getaway, thank you."
"Lovely place to stay and in a very good location. It has a lovely aesthetic and there was drinks and cake for guests waiting. I would leave a note for guests arriving early that they can leave their cars in the car park before check in as my partner kept going back to check with someone (anxiety) and there wasn't anyone around to ask.
We stayed in the stargazer room which was quite small but cozy. My biggest issue with the room was the bed is noted as king size but it seemed like a double at most to me which meant I slept badly as I need room to due circulation/nerve issues in my arms.
The view from the room was glorious, we stayed in the room in the evening and read while looking at the peaks. We couldn't see any stars due to clouds and I'm pretty sure there's a piece of the telescope missing, I may be wrong as I know nothing about them but there was no lens which I assume they need.
The staff were nice and breakfast was lovely. Everyone was helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. They all seemed to want to make the guests happy."
"A lively Lakeland hotel with great prospects and a good feel
. Fabulous Langdale views, clean bedrooms and helpful staff. The food was perfect and I would recommend the chicken and mushroom pie, really good. The new owners have more to do in making improvements to decor and this is underway but we loved it and will return."
"Everything was amazing and so easy.
Received great instructions the day before check in with videos etc. The check in process was a doddle, as was checkout. The comms via whats app was so efficient. I requested the chance of a later check out and they managed to extend this to 11:30 no questions asked.
Room was stunning, bed was SO comfortable and it was less than a 10 minute walk into Ambleside. Also highly reccommend the stone baked pizza hut next door - AMAZING!!!!
Would most certainly stay again"
