"This was our second trip to Maui and our second stay at the Aston, so we knew exactly what to expect. For us, the property is a great fit. It isn't overly fancy or ultra-modern; instead, it has a relaxed, retro island vibe that we enjoy.
Our stay went smoothly from check-in to check-out with no surprises. We stayed in a one-bedroom, one-bath condo-style unit with a full kitchen. Since we planned to host our adult children, their spouses, and our grandchildren several times during the trip, the space worked perfectly.
If I had to point out a downside, it would be that some areas could use updating. However, the property is well maintained, and the staff were terrific throughout our stay.
We especially enjoy the separate adult and family pools, along with the direct beach access. It provides a nice balance between relaxation and family activities.
We ate at the restaurant several times. The food was consistently good, and the prices were reasonable for on-property dining, making it a practical option for larger families.
Be prepared for resort and parking fees at checkout, but we found both to be reasonable.
If you're not looking for a luxury five-star resort and simply want a peaceful, family-friendly place to enjoy Maui, this property is hard to beat on the north side of the island.
We will definitely return. The location is in one of our favorite areas of Maui and continues to provide exactly the experience we're looking for."
"One step away from the beach. Amazing location 👍👍 beautiful sunset. Breath taking views of turtles in the water, from the balcony. Loved relaxing on the balcony and watching the stars slightly brighten up the water. And occasionally seeing a falling star. Falling asleep to sound of the waves !!! 5 stars ! Most definitely recommend."
"The beach and water were perfect. Some of the beaches at the resorts past Whaler's Village were too rocky. The Outrigger was right by Black Rock for cliff diving and great snorkeling with a short walk on the beach. The pool is old, but it is being renovated. The open grassy courtyard was a great place to watch the sunset if you want to get off the beach and have shade.Housekeeping was great and accommodating when we needed more supplies like coffee pods. The umbrella and beach chairs were pricey and the resort fee did not include any of that. It has a low key family vibe and not overly crowded with a sea of people like some of the bigger resorts."
"The staff were very attentive and welcoming. Rooms are a little outdated but clean. We would definitely stay here again. Plenty of parking, pool was great the kids loved it, and right on the beach."
"Lovely room with patio overlooking the pool area. Useful amenities in room, including washer and dryer. Parking availability. Helpful staff. Friendly cats."
