"This hotel is Magnificent, what an architectural masterpiece! Everything was perfect and we cant rate our stay highly enough! The room was large, comfortable and perfect for our family of 4! We slept very well and loved the beautiful fittings and fixtures! It is an amazing example of Spains rich history and the location was perfect! We walked through the streets and ate lots of wonderful food. The breakfast was also 5* and the recommended parking was affordable and very close! Muchas gracias, we hope to return one day!!"

"The parador is in a splendid position overlooking the planes around Jaen. The interior of the parador is fantastic and rooms are superb! We deducted 1 star as we thought the food in the parador is at best ok and expensive for what it is but it’s definitely worth a stay for a night"

Vega de la Reina - Alojamientos

Vega de la Reina - Alojamientos

10/10 Excellent
"This was an unusual place to stay overnight on our way further South in Spain. The location was accurately given by both Google Maps and Waze. You have to trust them as the approach looks a bit unlikely as you get nearer. May be tricky if arriving in the dark. We were a bit nervous about the entry process using links on our phones but it was all very easy in practice. Just be sure to have mobile signal & power in your battery. We had the place to ourselves so it felt like staying in a huge Airbnb. The kitchen facilities were very useful. One big piece of advice; there are no restaurants or food shops in the near vicinity so I’d suggest doing a food shop before arrival if you don’t want to drive again later. There’s a large Carrefour about 5 mins drive away."

Hotel Xauen

Hotel Xauen

8/10 Good
"We loved the position of this hotel that was close to everything you want to see in the old town and the restaurants too. The staff were extremely helpful. Our room on the 7th floor had a very compact bathroom and when the door was opened it caught the knees and toes of the person sitting in the toilet behind. The toilet also had a constant leak and the shower head clasp was broken and kept coming off the wall. That said the hotel was of excellent value and the magnificent roof terrace with a stunning view of the cathedral made up for these small faults. Eating lunch from the supermarket next door or bringing up a drink in the evening were memories that we will never forget. Thank you"
