Great location but would probably not stay here again. Beds felt like replacement was long overdue and walls are paper thin. Breakfast was great!

Great hotel and beautiful spot, conveniently situated. We were only asked to book a precise timeslot for breakfast in advance. This is not what one wishes for a relaxed holiday weekend though...

While they tell you there is no parking on site and that nearest parking is 500m away, what they don’t tell you is that there is no drop off zone or way to drop off your bags, so you have to haul everything across half the town. Further hotel room had a strong smell of musk and mould. Will definitely never stay at this hotel ever again.

It was a very bad experience. Highly unfriendly attitude. Suite did not have normal amenities. In spite of our telling them, it was not provided. We specifically requested to change the linen every day, but it was not done ! It claims as an old palace which is completely misleading in reality.

Not good enough for four stars: bad reception system. Untrained staff. Bad restaurant staff. Mattresses not good enough. One wall in room damaged, one chair also damaged.

Relaxing and fitness.
Overall the hotel is nice, with indoor swimming pool, sauna and exercise room, but extra towels are sometimes hard to get.

Very quaint and perfect location hotel
We love the hotel, easy and friendly check in, nice room, great radian bathroom floor and best in town location. A wonderful hotel. Our 1st night, we had quite a few younger guest next to us and just their chatting voice until 1am and movements in the room kept us up. They were fine, walls way too thin, we could hear them when they touch the wall next to our bed. They left the next few days we stayed on and our sleep was perfect, I was surprised at how thin the walls were or not sure how we could hear everything from next room. But we do love the hotel overall.

Elegant, historic building made into a great hotel. Center of town. Excellent, helpful staff. Spacious room, over looking a large green park. Price was excellent.

Beautiful outside but very worn and tired inside. Perfect area and once very beautiful. So disappointed with our room and changing would not have been better. Dark, dismal, depressing and shaby. Very small TV on other side of the room. No mirror only head and shoulders in bathroom. No shower cap. Floor to ceiling old windows that opened inwards onto scaffolding and old walls and windows (occupied so no privacy) as the building must be subsiding. Old shabby furniture and thick musty curtains. Was supposed to be 4*. Breakfast was ok but never saw any gardens as per pictures in the advert. Disappointed

The hotel is very lovely and situated right in town. The rooms are quite basic and more like small apartments with a bedroom, a separate small living area and a bathroom. The staff are very accommodating. They have parking which is charged at €15 a day. Free wifi.

Civilised, comfortable and convenient hotel
Only had two nights but liked the town and the hotel - all very civilised. Bit of a nuisance having to pay for parking but not really a problem. Wish we had spent more time in Friesland - it's a really pleasant and interesting area.

Great location
Although the location was great, the expected quality was disappointing as the premises felt somewhat rundown. Bathroom towels were barely enough to dry after shower while soap dispenser was inoperative. Tea/ coffee service was slow. Staff was friendly but appeared overworked. A notch down from the four star it was rated at

Spacious rooms looking rather tired
The hotel has a great location and helpful staff. Our room was very spacious, but in need of redecoration. The rest of the hotel was much better maintained, as evidenced by the wedding taking place in the garden when we arrived. We had to stand in the corridor to lock on to a wireless signal, but once our devices were online, the connection was maintained in our room. Breakfast was OK but I wouldn't recommend getting up specially for it.

Nice hotel in the center of Leeuwarden. Google historic ambiance. Nice breakfast room. However the breakfast is overpriced for the offering.

It was the best hotel I ever stayed till now!
The hotel was really nice and the room with the jacuzzi was fabulous. Extremely clean room and great staff.The location is very convenient while you can be in the city centre in 5 minutes.

Right in the town center. A GPS is very useful to find the right way to the hotel! Serviceminded staff. I booked via Hotels.com and was upgraded to a realy nice room with jaccuzi. Stay there next time in the town? Absolutely!

Unique Rooms
We stayed at the hotel twice and both times found the staff to be helpful and the rooms unique and very comfortable. The hotel is in a perfect location to visit city sights and also good resturants in the area.
