"On the whole our stay was a very pleasant experience. Our room was light airy and cool in the heatwave. The beds clean and comfortable. Decent shower/ bath. Not sure if the small towel in the bathroom was a hand towel or bathmat. The only disappointment was the very basic breakfast, just flake or some round cereal. No muesli, yoghurt, and NO fruit. "This lovely old pub in the heart of in the Sussex countryside is cosy and welcoming. It's a hotel/inn, pub, and Jamaican-focused restaurant all rolled into one. The welcome was as warm as the Caribbean from hosts Barrie (Jamaican) and Drexie (German), the husband and wife combo running this place. There's a nice garden in the back for summer nights and BBQs. "The property was lovely. We stayed in room 9 as it was located on the ground floor and I use a wheelchair, plenty of room. We had a snack Friday evening and it was lovely food. The staff were very friendly, chatty and accommodating. Easy to find. Definitely will stay here again."

"Room, bathroom and bedding were very clean. Room had lovely sea views as it was on the 4th floor. There are no lifts so the hotel might not be suitable for the elderly or disabled. The TV didn't work in our room, we were offered a different room but we refused. We were, however, able to watch TV in an unoccupied room. The staff were friendly but quite often nowhere to be seen. "Sadly our stay was cut short but while we were there we experienced a hearty breakfast cooked by Nick and served by the friendliest of staff who all had your best interests at heart. Our room was clean and tidy and it's only negative was, it was on the top floor and there isn't a lift, but still worth a visit should you be going to Eastbourne."
