"I am extremely disappointed with my stay at Bantr Wausau. The "King Suite" I booked was completely misrepresented in the photos and descriptions online. • False Advertising (No Bathtub): The photos for this room clearly showed a bathtub, which was a major reason I booked it. Upon arrival, there was no tub—only a poorly designed shower area. • Awkward Layout: The room layout is very strange and inconvenient. The sinks are located outside in the main room area instead of inside a private bathroom. • The "Wet Room" Disaster: The shower only had a thin cloth curtain for separation. As a result, the entire bathroom floor got soaked every time the shower was used, leaving the area wet and "off" for the duration of the stay. • Poor Service: There was zero proactive room service or housekeeping. We had to go out of our way to ask for basic amenities like shampoo and conditioner multiple times. This was easily the worst room experience I’ve had. If you are looking for a true suite with the amenities shown in their photos, look elsewhere."

"Stephanie checked me in after I attempted to use the self check-in QR code. She was pleasant and helpful during the process. However, the next morning when I went to check out, she spoke to me through the Ring doorbell camera and simply told me to leave the key on the desk. It felt a bit impersonal. Originally, I had booked a king room on the second floor, but I discovered there was no elevator. That wasn’t a major issue, and I requested a first-floor room with a queen bed instead — Room 106. Unfortunately, I would strongly recommend avoiding this room. The room was not clean. The chair had noticeable stains on the seat that appeared to possibly be urine stains. The bathtub had a visible dirt ring around it and rust in the bottom. When I showered, the water backed up to ankle depth, and the sink also drained very slowly. The bathroom smelled musty and strongly of urine. Another issue was the curtains. Only the sheer white curtains would close; the heavier curtains would not pull shut at all. People walking and parking outside could easily see into the room. I ended up using a rubber band to keep the curtains together for privacy. The bed appeared clean, although it was not very comfortable. We stayed here because of the convenient location, but after this experience, I don’t think we’ll return. The overall cleanliness of the room left me wondering what else may not have been properly cleaned."

"It was ok, it was very busy and the smell was bad! They had way too much perfume cleaning smell but in the morning it smelled rough. The staff outside of front desk were not friendly"

"You get exactly what you pay for here, and it’s not much. If you’re cheap or poor like me, this is where you want to be. Also, there are a lot of people in and out so if socializing with strangers is your thing you’re in for a treat. There’s a weird guy that sits by the front desk and stares at everyone that comes down the hall but there wasn’t a category to rate him. Every other rating is “okay” but I’d probably rate him as “not okay”. Maybe he’s an undercover security guard. He’s not going to make you feel safe in any case."
