"The shower basically didn’t work, all the furniture is damaged, the room smelled, there was a leftover beer can from the previous occupants so that didn’t exactly inspire confidence in the cleaning. The hotel we were put in was not the Sportsman inn, but rather a dumpier one on the opposite side of Gus’ pub so obviously the online pictures did not match the room we got. Port McNeill is a lovely place with lovely people including the staff I interacted with so I chose to not complain about the room since it was just one night. I paid more to stay at the sportsman than my previous stay at the Humpback because I was hoping for it to be an upgrade. I couldn’t recommend the Sportsman’s Inn and I would avoid booking there again."
