When we arrived we had a very warm welcome and throughout the stay our 2 dogs were made to feel relaxed and happy. "Lovely, well maintained Victorian building with staff who go the extra mile to be welcoming and helpful. Parking is available though limited. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with roomy en-suite baths. There is a lot of traffic on the nearby roads, so bring earplugs if you're sensitive to noise."

When questioned the waiter explained that they do not allow crockery outside yet drinks were served in glasses! "My wife and I both agreed that the overnight stay we had there was very good, everything you could have wanted was there, the bed was lovely and the room was spot on. The next morning we went down to the restuarant and to an excellent breakfast. All in all we would have no hesitation in staying there again."

"The room we had was fairly run down. In particular it had a strong and unpleasant odour. At first we thought having the windows open would help. But part way through the night the smell was so terrible we were awake. In the morning we realised it must have been mildew and mold. Some of the glass window pains had black mould, not only around the edges but in the middle of the glass. We left pretty early because we couldn't be in the room anymore. "We liked our room, the view it gave us over the countryside was brilliant. We struggled with the coffee maker, and gave up on it- some instructions would have helped. We also struggled with the shower controls and again some instructions would have helped. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was very good but we were a bit disappointed by the selection for dinner."
