Delta Hotels by Marriott St. Pierre Country Club
10/10 Excellent
"We had an absolutely lovely stay at the Delta Hotel. The staff were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived, which really set the tone for the whole trip.
Breakfast was delicious, with a great selection of continental options, fresh juices, and hot dishes — a really well-rounded and satisfying start to the day. We also had dinner at the restaurant, which was equally enjoyable. The food and atmosphere were both lovely.
The accommodation was surprisingly spacious and private. The hotel is made up of separate houses, so your room feels more like your own apartment. The only thing to keep in mind is that you may need to walk between your room and reception, the restaurant, or the spa — depending on where you’re located, this can take around 7–10 minutes. We didn’t mind it, but it’s worth noting.
We used the spa and had a massage, which was wonderful. The amenities are great and really added to the relaxing countryside experience.
There isn’t much within walking distance, so you’ll need a car to explore the surrounding area. But if you plan ahead, there are interesting activities and spots to visit nearby.
Overall, it was a lovely countryside stay. We’d happily return."

"This is a mammoth complex, not something I really understood at the time of booking. Upon arrival we discovered expensive parking fees which were not included in the booking. We had received an email before arrival advising us to book restaurants but didn’t realise this would mean we would not be able to get a booking at a reasonable time on the day.
When we are away we like to see how we feel on the day but this does not work here, we didn’t go to the spa as again this needed to be booked in advance, all of this is via the hotel site.
We visited the cellar bar which was like a pub , there was one inexperienced staff member alone there and we waited over 10minutes for her to try to get the previous person a receipt, she then served us two drinks and told us no cash and when we pointed out she was overcharging us accordingly to the bar tariff she just said sorry that’s wrong and we paid the higher price.
As I said this hotel did not suit us but I must say it is a very nice hotel with beautiful rooms and for an organised couple then it would be great I’m sure and I must say the meals we received in room service was exceptional. "

Holiday Inn Express Newport by IHG

"The hotel was nice and car park had plenty of space. The pillows were really lumpy and the sofa bed in the family room was very uncomfortable and small for a double."

"There was a strong smell of chemicals. The bathroom shower was broken, the handle was glued, and when I tried to use the shower, it fell off. Parking was £10 for two nights. I definitely won't be going back."

Nant Ddu Lodge Hotel
8/10 Good
"Breakfast, gym and sauna/steam all great. Room a little tired, with basic TV. Felt like they could do with more staff as we were hanging about to get checked in for our room, when dining and pool."

Pilgrim Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"A very cosy hotel with absolutely fabulous views. The family room was really spacious, with a comfortable double bed and a single, giving us plenty of room to relax. Although the hotel itself is a little outdated, the stunning views more than make up for it and add to the overall charm. We had a lovely stay and would definitely return. Highly recommended for comfort and scenery"
