"We spent a weekend at The Mystic Motel in Santa Fe and overall found it to be a nice, quaint property with a lot of charm. The indoor and outdoor lounge areas are thoughtfully designed with local decor, which really adds to the ambiance. The front desk staff was friendly, and check-in was quick and easy. Daily fresh linens and room cleaning provided. The rooms were average size and the only thing I would say we missed was having a microwave.
We booked especially looking forward to breakfast based on prior reviews, but it ended up being disappointing. The only protein options the first morning were undercooked bacon and yogurt, and the strawberries were very acidic. The second morning did include breakfast burritos, but they weren’t labeled and were in limited supply, so we chose to go out for breakfast instead.
There were some fun elements, like karaoke and live music. Saturday night there was a party that went on until a little after midnight. It could be heard throughout the property despite the stated quiet hours of 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., and we weren’t notified in advance. The event was also open to people outside the motel, which led to many non-guests parking in the main area and guest having to park in overflow and walk. Overall, it’s a lovely and unique place to stay, but it didn’t fully meet expectations particularly with breakfast and guest-focused amenities. I’d recommend prioritizing parking for motel guests and setting clearer expectations around events."
