This is a five star property that lives up to the standard. The staff are excellent, the furnishings beautiful and the cleanliness flawless. Drinks and snacks at the rooftop pool will make you question the need to leave the hotel to explore LA. This is an ideal place to stay if passing through LA. Valet Parking is expensive, but safe and tremendously convenient. The valets are quick and efficient.

I really loved this property and wanted to stay longer that is just how nice the hotel is. Shower is massive and I loved everything about the hotel the fridge the tv was a smart tv. I had a balcony room so I enjoyed that as well. I think it was really cool how the drapes went back with a push of a button.

The parking and food at the hotel were astronomical. Severe enough to make me not stay there again. Two meals (dinner for 2 and break for 3) in the hotel and 5 nights of parking was $1000. Hotel was nice. Walkable to the beach and promenade if inclined.

This is my first Expedia review despite being a Platinum member, and unfortunately, this experience warrants one star. Santa Monica Proper is stylish and beautiful, and the room was comfortable. But the service was shockingly unprofessional, and the handling of an acknowledged billing error raises serious concerns about the hotel’s billing practices and accountability. After spending a substantial amount at Surya Spa, I was charged close to $600 for a treatment I neither purchased nor received. I flagged this at checkout. The front desk acknowledged the mistake, apologized and explicitly assured me the charge would be removed. Yet the hotel processed it anyway, I sent detailed emails to both hotel and spa management. Neither has responded. Charging a guest for a service they never received, despite acknowledging the error, and then ignoring a documented complaint reflects serious failures in oversight and basic customer service. Guests should not have to scrutinize their credit card statements and chase management to recover money that should never have been charged. For a hotel positioning itself at this level, this is inexcusable.

Well located hotel perfectly positioned 10 mins walk to Santa Monica beach and pier, shopping area and restaurants. The hotel is beautifully designed and its decor is trendy, with lots of chilled public spaces which shout chillax in every area. Top interior design shines through. The staff at the main desk were helpful and lovely, as were the restaurant team. Room was beatifully appointed. Airy and spacious with lovely modern bathroom, stocked fridge, plenty of device charging (including USB-C…thank you!), huge TV and welcoming decor. The gym is excellent - even with a reformer Pilates machine and Zwift static bike. Final shout to the parking valet team, always quick and helpful. We won’t visit often as we’re UK based, however we have already booked again for one night before we head to Coachella Festival next April.

Great stay! Property itself is gorgeous and great place to hangout and spend time in, but there are a ton of great restaurants and bars in the 10-12 block radius of the hotel as well. The rooftop pool and restaurant is a great feature specially in the summer. I’m I love with this place big time
