"My wife and I first stayed here in the 80's. For a while, we came once a year. We hadn't been for about 12 years, so we decided to go back to Boothbay to see what changed.
The town is still beautiful, but it did have a little different feel to it from when we first started going.
The hotel is in a great location, in the center of town, overlooking the harbor. It is now owned by The Lafayette Hotel Group. The full service restaurant that they used to have is now more of a bar/lounge, where you order food(limited) at the bar. The people were nice and the food was decent, though. We do miss being able to have breakfast in the morning.
If you have never been to Boothbay, we still recommend going, and The Fisherman's Wharf is a great hotel. It is more of a sign of the times that places have to cut costs, in order to survive. I am sure Covid also has a lot to do with the changes."
