"The room was adequate but quite cold (there was an heater provided), the shower was small and not as hot as we would have liked. It wasn’t soundproof so we could hear all the neighbours. There was never once anyone at reception. When we arrived there was a note saying the key was in our door but we had to ask people in the restaurant where the rooms were as it was 6 and dark and we were tired after a long day driving. I had questions for reception about laundry which we couldn’t ask in person being that there was no person, so I emailed them. I’m atill waiting for an answer. And lastly, when the staff cleaned the room they left a note for us saying ‘please don’t draw on the walls’. There was a mark next to one of the beds but as 2 adults we had not been drawing on the walls. I went to talk to them about it but as usual there was no one at reception. When we left we dropped the key at the reception desk, which was still unmanned."
"We stayed in a private 4 bed bunk room with 1 double and 2 bunk beds. The bedroom was small but fine for the 2 of us. The kitchen had everything we needed and was a great place to meet other guests. The shared shower and toilet facilities were clean and a good standard.
My criticism is that the price was too high, approx double the price of other holiday chalet style accommodation we stayed in which had private facilities."
"The room is good and very clean, with everything you need. There is no air conditioning, but the electric heater and electric blankets work well. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed during my stay."
"Ok this is an old building and we should appreciate that. The room facilities were basic (the shower head leaked reducing pressure, one electrical blanket did not work and the general cleaning could be better) we thought that the continental breakfast layout could be better to reduce congestion. The breakfast was toast, cereal and limited fruit. Tea and coffee was available. The location was excellent over the road from the railway. The staircase is magnificent . Would I stay there again, not sure."
