"Beware! After check in, I went to the desk to report my AC. They said someone was coming. I waited an hour and a half and went back. They changed my room. I drove to the beach (1.5 miles) and found that I couldn’t park in the lot. $10 to park up the road. The hotel was dingy, old and in bad need of renovations. Smelled like mold. I packed up and left. Don’t let the pretty pool fool you. There were only 3 families in the entire hotel. I KNOW WHY."

The open air restaurant with its observation deck is a great place for birdwatching since there are feeders at the edge of the deck and the staff puts out fruit and seeds early when the birds are active. "We have been visiting this hotel for several years, and unfortunately we noticed a significant decline in quality this time. The hotel is clearly cutting back on maintenance. The area around the pool looks worn out, with several damaged and faded awnings that need urgent replacement. The rooms also show clear signs of neglect — walls and furniture are starting to look tired and outdated. "We loved this place as our home base! Very safe, private, secure, clean, and great customer service. Alejandro the waiter is the best!! Learned our names the first night and made us feel so welcome. Anytime he saw us, in the parking lot or walking to our room, he would yell out a name and greet us and ask how our day went. He made us feel so welcome and comfortable. "We stayed here about 4 years in a row. LOVE THIS PLACE. Splurge for the villa. Just steps from the pool and steps to the beach too. Perfect for kids! Plenty of space. Will return again and again. Oh and AMAZING FOOD, good prices for kids menu. Kids meals are like $7-8. They have sunset 2x1 drinks so grab your 2 pina coladas for $8. Just heavenly location."
