"I stayed here for my birthday and overall had a really good experience. The rooms were clean, the hotel felt welcoming, and There were plenty of convenient places nearby to grab food. I also appreciated the complimentary breakfast, which made the stay even better."

"We had a great 5 day stay at the hotel. It was conveniently located for everything we did, from going into DC to Mount Vernon. The rooms were great and housekeeping did a great job every day in providing us with clean towels and making the bed. But I especially want to call out David, the attendant in the restaurant. I'm not going to call him a server, because he actually did more than that. He is a gem and a great asset to your hotel. Each morning he happily greated us, after the first day, knew the beverage we wanted with our breakfast, chatted with us and was a pleasure seeing and speaking with him each morning."

Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center

"Amazing experience! I went to the Gaylord in celebration of my birthday and the staff was very attentive, accommodating, and nice. I didn’t go to the pool or gym but they have plenty of restaurants and bars on site. It is also walking distance to everything on the harbor. We parked in the Harbor garage for $25 since we wouldn’t be in and out. If you decide to pay for hotel parking it’s $48 for self parking and $75 for valet per day. I plan to return to the Gaylord in the future for another staycation!"
Residence Inn by Marriott Alexandria Old Town South at Carlyle

"Pleasant and clean. Staff was very nice and helpful. The drawback was that the safe in our room was not working and we couldn't leave for the day without locking up our laptop and valuables. The staff was able to fix it eventually but it delayed our plans for the day while we waited in the room as they repaired it. Also the fridge made an annoying knocking sound, and one elevator was out of service. Overall the room was clean and comfortable, but they need to give some attention to maintenance. The other thing I did not like is that even though they have what looks like secure parking with a gated entrance, when we drove up, the voice on the speaker at the entrance to the garage only asked if we were checking in. We said yes, and the security gate was raised. They did not ask our name. The garage is not secure if you're going to raise the gate for anyone saying they are checking in."
