"The Hotel Appenzell is absolutely charming! The central location on the plaza is excellent, with a view to activities going on in town. It's conveniently right next to the Tourist Info center. "We had a junior suite, and it was a great size. The entire hotel is staff-free and automated, which actually made things simple and easy. Plentiful parking, even for larger vehicles, right in front of the hotel. My only complaint is with the Expedia listing. If you follow the Expedia map guide from your reservation to locate the hotel, it will take you to the wrong building, whether you open it in Google Maps or Apple Maps. "The worst part of the stay is that my room was directly across from a church bell that rang every fifteen minutes and celebrated each hour."
