"The waiters were great and cleaning staff friendly.the two guys working the lobby cafe were excellent…but I was surprised that most of them didn’t speak English, considering they’re selling the place as a “western” style establishment? The front desk staff was rather aloof, unfriendly and not particularly helpful.
We were ending a fantastic but tiring month long adventure in Nicaragua and decided to end the trip somewhere with a bit of luxury and a great pool, to decompress and prepare for the gruelling trip back to Vancouver and the cold wet grey weather.. to relax poolside for a few days was our #1 requirement. Unfortunately, when we got to the pool(both of them) there was blaring music from massive speakers and so many kids of all ages, splashing and screaming and teenagers kanoodling that we couldn’t even access the pool, let alone swim in it. I thought perhaps it was a one-off event but turns out the hotel offers a “Club Package” for $150 per yr membership (less than reg paying guests spend per night 🤔) which includes discount food/rooms and pool access for families. I don’t recall seeing this in any other international Best Western?
This went on over the whole weekend, but we figured we’d at least perhaps? get all day Monday for some pool time… when we went to the pool Mon morn they had drained it for the nxt 3 days!
Had I any prior knowledge of this i would NEVER hve booked there because the hotel itself (w.out pool) is DEF not not up to standard for the price."
