"Stayed here for only one night. It was a rainy day so unfortunately having the view of the river was not as nice as we would have wanted. Can’t choose the weather, though! It is a lovely hotel in a great area of Vieux Lyon, just around the corner from a really good wine bar. Went downstairs for coffee - it was delicious - and we had it with some praluline we bought the day before! "

"The location is excellent for touring/transportation. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet comprehensive. Bed was firm but comfortable. Air conditioning was iffy. We needed to move rooms as we and staff had difficulty setting up the A/C. We also suggest a rubber mat in the slippery tub/shower. "

"Great location in old Lyon. We got a “family” room which was 2 bathrooms and 2 rooms, 1 with a king bed and one with 2 single beds a small table and chairs - perfect for me and my 2 daughters. Nicely updated room, air conditioning and nice bathrooms. The building is beautiful . Liked the water station to refill bottles and the option to have breakfast if we wanted. The stag was friendly and helpful, they reserved a cab for us to get back to the train station. Walkable to a lot of the sites,...

"It is exactly what you expect from a 2 star hotel. It does what it says on the tin and it does it fairly well. You are warned about the staircase situation, granted. This being said it is ludicrously difficult to manage with luggage. "

"Great place to stay if you visit Lyon. Cozy homie feeling. The room we stayed does not have balcony so sunlight is a bit lacking. Room feels dark, there is no closet either, no fridge either. But I love that they provide lounge access and complimentary beverages and snacks, it is so helpful "

"Very pleasant stay. We chose this hotel because it is close to the part of the river Rhone from which river cruises depart and return. It is across the bridge on the peninsula but it was an easy walk with our luggage. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful and breakfast was very good. The hotel allowed us to leave our luggage for free for several hours on the day of our cruise, when we could not board until after 3pm, and we used their services on our return (for a fee) to store our bags...

"Nous avons l'habitude de descendre au SOFITEL, à chacun de nos séjours à Lyon, car nous apprécions cet hotel pour son confort, son calme et la gentillesse de son personnel. Un point moins positif: l'exiguité des toilettes dans la salle de bains.... depuis la rénovation, mais qu'y faire?"

"Die Ausstattung ist wirklich cool mit der Idee einer Schule/Klassenzimmer. Waren echt begeistert. Toll auch, dass man Wasser kostenlos mitnehmen kann (gesprudelt mit Maschine im EG). Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral im alten Teil von Lyon. Zum Frühstück können wir nichts sagen, da wir in eine Bäckerei in der Nähe gegangen sind. Vermutlich etwas preisgünstiger. Das Zimmer lag im obersten Stock und wir hatten einen wunderschönen Ausblick. Kleiner Nachteil: das Doppelbett war vermutlich nur 1,40m...
