The Masseria itself is stunning. The rooms are basic but very clean. The pool area is lovely, and the courtyard has beautiful views of the old house built into the rock. We also booked the spa, which was an amazing private experience with steam room, shower, sauna and private pool. 5 minute drive from the Centro Storico.

This resort is about 15 minute drive from the historic district of Matera. I had stayed in the center of town in the other cities we visited in Puglia. I liked the quietness of this location. The room was elegantly furnished with high arching ceiling. The staff was excellent and the breakfast was great.

Our stay at Santa Lucia was truly perfect from start to finish. The property is beautiful — peaceful, clean, and surrounded by nature, yet only a short drive from the historic center of Matera. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always ready to help with directions, restaurant recommendations, or anything we needed. Breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning, with plenty of variety and a lovely atmosphere to start the day.

We had an amazing time, the hotel was beautiful and clean, staff were kind, honest & approachable. Out daughter lover the pool, supermarket near buy, Matera old town was just a 10 minute drive away. We would definitely visit/ stay here again. “Exceptional”.

Beautiful place to stay

Lovely place. Room nice, not in main building. Great service, nice breakfast. Lovely swimming pool and loungers. Only downside is that it’s not central so need to drive into town to eat and for sightseeing. Would have been great to have had option to have dinner in the Masseria.

Stunning historic property. The multitude of plants and flowers with vines growing on all of the old buildings were breathtaking. Very picturesque swimming pool area although the pool was very cold.

Highly recommended for your visit to Matera

Beautiful and immaculate setting, we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in this carefully restored farm estate. Breakfast was delicious, enjoyed in the lovely courtyard. Staff were welcoming and helpful in recommending good restaurants close by. Unfortunately it was too cool to enjoy the gorgeous pool. Only a 5 minute drive to the historic part of Matera.

On the outskirts with good access to Matera

Our sty at Masseria Santa Lucia was very comfortable. We had some difficulty finding it from the highway, but once we arrived, all was good. We received good recommendations for dining options both inside and outside Matera, as well as great parking and touring directions from Enzo. We enjoyed our stay and would strongly consider returning.

Great spot for car travelers with style and space

2 bedroom apartment was very nice and very clean. Photos look a little austere, but the apartments are well done and very functional with plenty of space. Important to note that the 2 bedroom apartments actually have two bathrooms (one full and one half bath) which is nice so those sleeping on the flip out couch side can use the restroom at night without disturbing those sleeping in the other room. Most of the reviews are spot on - yes, it's in an industrial area, but once you're inside the gates, you could never tell. The grounds are beautiful and the pool is small but nice. Yes, the breakfast was a little short on options, mainly cakes and sweets with some cold cuts, bread and cheese and some basic cereals, but what was there was good.

the hotel is extremely beautiful, the room was modern and comfortable, it was easy to go to Matera atractions...the only problem was concerning the breakfast...few options, with lots of sugar...being a hotel of that level and price they could really improve this...

We had an enjoyable stay here for our visit to Matera. The breakfast is abundant and delicious. Now for the downside of our stay. Our shower head was damaged, and we had water all over our bathroom floor. We visited in early May, and it was hot during this time. They told us air conditioning is not turned on until the end of May, but it clearly states in the description that the rooms are air conditioned. We were very unhappy about this.
