"The hotel is situated on dirt roads and is close to nothing. The rooms had dead bugs and it seemed unkept. Our reservation included free airport pickup and free breakfast. However, we had to pay for transfer and no free breakfast. According to the hostess, we paid a special rate and it did not include those items. We loved our stay at Island Safari Lodge! The lodge is in an absolutely gorgeous setting right on the River, which means it is very serene and beautiful, however it is a 20 minute taxi drive away from town which can be a bit of a hassle if you plan on going into town for dinners or night life. Arrived early and were cheerily checked in at once. Lovely room with kitchenette. We thought we were getting a king bed plus sofa bed, but the manageress got the maid to make up 2 singles so we both slept well. The place itself is nice and clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly (just one lady during the day and security guard at night). The location is a bit secluded and no where near the location stated on Hotels.com. They have it in the city centre which is the main reason why i chose to stay there but in actual fact the location is on the outskirts along a dirt track, off the main road to the east of the river.

A fabulous place with the most friendly and accommodating staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Our guide was the most knowledgeable man who knew the name of every bird and animal we saw. He could spot the smallest bird at the top of a tree whilst driving. He found us our first Leopard - amazing.
