"This hotel definitely comes with a bit of a workout — there are quite a few stairs to climb to get around the property. That said, it’s one of those rare cases where the effort genuinely pays off. The views from up top are absolutely stunning and make every step worth it. The room itself was fantastic. It was spacious, well-equipped, and comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The highlight, though, was the balcony — overlooking the ocean with a clear view of the sunset. It was the kind of view you don’t get tired of, no matter how many times you see it. Service was fairly simple and no-frills, but the staff were attentive when needed and made sure things ran smoothly throughout my stay. Another big plus is the location. It’s close enough to downtown to be easily walkable, which made exploring the area convenient without needing transportation. Overall, if you don’t mind a bit of climbing, this place delivers where it counts — views, comfort, and a solid location."

Every meal was genuinely delicious, and I really appreciated how the menu honoured local Mexican cuisine. It didn’t feel generic or watered down — it felt authentic, elevated, and full of flavour. The pools were perfect — clean, well-designed, and incredibly relaxing. On top of that, the poolside amenities were top notch, making it easy to spend entire days just enjoying that space without needing anything else. What truly set this place apart, though, was the service. The staff went above and beyond at every turn. It never felt forced or overly formal — just genuine, attentive, and thoughtful in a way that made the whole experience feel effortless. Overall, this is the kind of place you don’t just stay at — you experience. I’d come back in a heartbeat."

"Amazing energy and community here at Bajo Las Estrellas. The breeze at night is nice with being higher up from ground level, and the breakfast served everyday is an extra blessing! As this eco camp is filled with life and love, you can truly feel how much effort goes into maintaining this place to be the safe haven it is. Cook your own food in the communal kitchen, leave a bag of your perishable food in the fridge.. you have all you need for an affordable price here. It’s a 5 min / 8 min walk from 2 beaches as well. This is your cozy place to stay in Mazunte I’m telling you!!! "

"The AC did not cool past a certain point, but was good enough. The staff seemed kind of careless. Didn't get a welcoming vibe from them. The wifi comes and goes. The water they offer is outside so it's always warm and dusty. Half the building is still under construction. The new concrete rooms look like a cold, gray, bunker. Staying there for multiple days makes you feel like you're in a dungeon. The toilet would shoot water up like a geyser when flushing. The shower is right next to a sliding glass door covered by a curtain. When it's dark outside and lit inside, you're able to see the silhouette of the person showering from the outside. The bar outside sometimes blasts music at night. Saw a scorpion get into our toiletries. At least the cleaners do their job well, but they did skip a day. Plenty of eating options around."
