"My five-year-old and I arrived at the hotel around 6 PM. The hotel's location in Flanders/Riverhead offers convenient access to both Main Street (East and West) and the Riverside Walkway. While these are attractive features, it is important to note that the immediate vicinity remains somewhat questionable, situated between the Aquarium and the Train Station.(As close to Fun as the Danger...) The cottage was mediocre - Musty smell, hard uncomfortable bed, non working hair dryer and the staff could not get me another one. There was an iron but no ironing board. Decor was awful , felt like a motel. Would not stay again."

It listed some amenities that were not yet available and some that were only available through a weekend stay which we did not have with a Sunday-Tuesday booking. "The Penny Lane provided a very new and clean room that was nicely decorated. The rug was quite rough and could not be walked on barefoot and the coffee maker in the room did not work. But we had a delicious breakfast that included Goldberg’s bagels and specialty coffee made by a server. It was pouring so we did not get to enjoy the pool. Expedias confirmation said check in was at 2 and Penny Lane said at 4 but we checked in after 5 since we came from a party. "

The grounds are well kept The salt water pool a delight & the dock over the bay water offered beautiful sunrises & sunsets, very relaxing.
