Great place to stay with cute gardens and views of rice terraces, away from the hub-bub. Staff VERY friendly and super helpful. Property lovely and clean, if a little dated.
These rice fields were very therapeutic! It was nice to get out of the city and stay in one of the villas, giving us a remote feel for Bali. The single unit villa we stayed in was traditional and gave us a “true Balinese” taste of rural life. The staff really looked after us and we ate most of our meals at their restaurant (I would suggest including breakfast each day). The main pool allowed us to swim, float, and relax while gazing out onto the rice fields. We had multiple walks along a concrete path that lead us to the village where we went to see the temple. I would highly recommend staying here for at least a few nights to get away from the hustle bustle of the city centres. The front desk staff can arrange a taxi for you, if needed, since Grabs can be limited in this area. I will definitely be back!
This was a fabulous place to stay for 4 nights, in the rice fields in a small village where vilagers' lives are real and authentic. The staff were warm and friendly, always happy to help us with our Balinese language. The food was nice and fresh and the Wooden House was a treat to stay in.
I would recommend Umusari to anyone wanting a relaxed, authentic Balinese experience.

This was a stay during COVID with almost all rooms empty which must be difficult for the hotel. The room we stayed, gardens and pools were well maintained. Just one advice to fellow travelers: do not accept the room next to the reception because there is noise entering easily (wooden walls). Instead ask to be shown the rooms down at the river, where the restaurant is located.
Bel établissement en plein les rizieres
Restaurant ,PTDJ tres correct
The staff were lovely - even surprising us with banana pancakes and iced tea in the afternoon. The pool was nice and quiet, the room a little small but the bed really comfy and the aircon terrific. All in all, really great for the price!
Nice budget villa centrally located in the village of Umabian, Tabanan, Bali. Very quite place away from tourist area of Kuta and Canggu Beach; yet close to Ubud, Monkey Forest Kedaton ,Taman Ayun and Tanah Lot Temple. We enjoyed the tranquility, the outdoor pool and the massage ( only US $11.00 per hour ). The pathway to the dining area presently under constructions.
This villa estate is a very nice choice if you’re looking for peace and quiet with expansive working rice-field views. There are a handful of units that are pretty separate from each other, yet connected by stone paths and a communal swimming pool.
My single room (Balinese House) had a very comfortable king-size bed and aircon, with a nice open-air bathroom. It’s duplex-style, so you share a wall with another room. The other villas are suite-style (larger and closer to the pool). The shared wall is thin so I’d get the suite-style if you want more privacy.
There’s a small mini-mart right next door, convenient for getting random snacks (have cash). Walking to Mengwi takes about an hour, so best to ask the helpful staff to arrange for a taxi.
The meal situation is a bit vague so I’ll explain it here: Uma Sari Villas has a restaurant that serves breakfast (complimentary), lunch and dinner (you pay). The restaurant is actually a 3-minute walk down the rice field with a beautiful setting, although Ayu was nice enough to bring me dinner to my cottage one night.
For breakfast, the oatmeal and eggs are very basic, so I would get the banana pancakes with honey, or the Balinese breakfast options (order the day before). The dinner options nasi campur and nasi goreng are amazing and hearty.
Recommended: explore the rice fields and terraces all around the villas (walk or bike). Thank you Uma Sari for a great stay!

Serene rice fields
Uma Sari is right on the rice fields - a serene, lovely, peaceful environment. Beautiful pool under trees overlooking fields. Wonderful open cabana for meditation- massage- contemplation. Friendly staff. We had a misunderstanding and did not get free WIFI for some time. Nice breakfast location. Lovely walking the rice fields. Need transportation to get to the next town. Bathroom door did not lock properly, so we had to prop it shut with a chair. Bathroom garden design with open roof allowed mosquitos in our room. Bugs were a problem. Overall, a lovely and peaceful hotel.
A BEAUTIFUL place - everything is beautiful: the rooms, the cottages, the terraces, the pool, the whole complex - the view, the restaurant.... Very good breakfast, extremely friendly personnel... We had a lovely stay
