"If you don’t mind staying a bit outside Hanga Roa, then Hostal Pukao is a great option. It’s quiet and rustic. We traveled during the shoulder season so it was especially quiet, with roosters the only real noise. The walk into town is easy — almost all downhill. Coming back at day’s end was uphill on a full stomach so that’s something to consider, but we never minded. There’s a small market down the street and a communal kitchen on the premises.
