"I would say that the decor in the room was unique in color and style. The bed and pillows were comfortable. My check-in was all but welcoming. I think the gal at the front desk only went through the motions of checking us in. There was no welcome, no please or thank-you, and no gesture of friendliness. I later approached the desk as I noted that I discovered that my room was being offered at a lower rate. There were 4 rooms at this lower rate when I checked in. I requested that my credit card be credited (as I paid for the room upon arrival), and that I be recharged at the lower amount. I was told this could not happen. After I attempted reasoning, my credit card was not adjusted. I responded that I would be in contact with my credit card company, and would talk to the manager the next morning. I received the same response from the manager and noted that this was not good customer relations. He remarked that it was a $40 difference, and seemed to imply it was not significant. I begged to differ! I am aware that Expedia policy applies here but I do believe the hotel could have credited my card and recharged me the lower amount considering I only paid for the room on arrival. I also brought attention to the lack of friendly customer service the night before and he apologized for that."
