The room was nice but, despite a sign on the bathroom door, a very small step from the bedroom to the bathroom resulted in painful toes as both my wife and I stubbed them on the step. "We have stayed here before several times but this time was really disappointing. We booked an accessible room but on arrival we were told this wasn't available and we were on the first floor. It was fortunate my operation for a knee replacement was postponed or I wouldn't have managed the stairs (no lift). The first floor room was stifling as it was during the ongoing heatwave. No fan provided. We went straight to get a cold drink (having driven 200 miles we were parched). Ordered the drinks...

"The breakfast was lovely. There’s no air-conditioning so you’ll have to crack the window. There’s some stairs, so just be aware that you need to carry your luggage up some stairs. The staff are very helpful and friendly. "

"One night stay. Very friendly staff. Lovely village location with nice view of the Wye valley hillsides. Very reasonable pub standard evening meal, breakfast was spot on. The room was clean and comfortable with all the bits you would expect, kettle with tea and coffee, a nice bottle of sparkling water, TV, good quality soap and shower gel etc. Great value for a very reasonable price. Add in that they served a well kept pint of Tribute Ale."

"Sadly this property needs huge investment. The whole place is really tired. There was no on there to welcome us and they hadn’t sent us the door code so I had to phone twice before someone would pick up and then had to wait for the owner to arrive to let us in, not ideal after a long journey. We had a garden room - which had thread bare carpets with stains on, the most uncomfortable bed imaginable and it just felt dirty. I thought from the pictures this place looked ok, but I was very wrong...

"Property was well located and breakfast was good, unfortunately they charged for a z-bed for a 3 year old on arrival although I had paid for 3 people."

"Lovely old building. Staff were excellent, helpful and cheerful. Very nice breakfasts, didn't dine there in the evening, so can't comment on the evening meals. Having parking to the rear was most useful, but has limited number of spaces. Only "negative" was being a very old property the stairs were a bit of a challenge if you are on the top floor."
