This place is a gem. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There is a cool shop within walking distance. Great food is right down the road (The Mountain Goat), and the room was clean and comfortable. The guests were all friendly and fun to be around as well.

Rooms out dated. No microwave. Can't comment on the cabins, but I'm sure are better. Friendly people and the restaurant is cool, with live music but only open weekends and closes early. But nice family oriented place. Ok place to stay if passing through and lots of natural attractions to see as its in a gorgeous area.

We reserved our room a week in advance. the location was nice, however we noticed as soon as we walked in our room that our stay would not be enjoyable. There were many hairs in the sink and tub, as well as tooth paste stains all over the sink. It looked as if it had not been dusted in several weeks and the floors were dirty. For the price, i expect a lot more from any hotel I stay at.

Older property with basic accommodations. Don't expect luxury. Linens and towels were acceptable. Mattress was mediocre.

The place was nice however the pool was empty and the morning staff gave another guest access to the room we were sleeping in. It was odd getting barged in on by a stranger but overall it was a neat little place.

We rented a cabin that was rundown and dirty. The lights blinked when the refrigerator kicked on. The tub and shower were stained. The TV remote didn’t work right. There were carpenter bees and wasps on the porch. There was a strong musty/smoky smell throughout. We called and two people came immediately to try and address the TV and bees. We then asked if we could get a different room or cabin and they told us we could move to the next cabin which was much better overall.

No hot water in our room.. couldn’t even shower. Run down. Pool filthy. Orange hazard vines all over property. Very outdated. No desk phones I room has to walk to office for service. TV remote didn’t work, had to get out of bed to change channel. Do not recommend

Location is easy access to I-24. Room could be updated but was clean. Shower was good and hot with nice shower head. Bed was comfortable. Very good stay for the price.

You get what you pay for. The mattress was older and sank a little and there were a few ants in the sink, but running water made them disappear. The tv remote didn’t work and the firewood didn’t burn, but other than that it was great

The Smokehouse is an institution. However, the quality of the rooms seems to have decreased over the years. However, good value for the cost!

Cute rustic lodge. Affordable lodging, fairly clean, only disappointed that the trading post is no longer there and the restaurant is only open on Friday and Saturday.

This was a very affordable stay and we were drawn in by the price and reviews. People should know that this is an older motel. The decor and fixtures, furniture etc are all very dated and old. But the room felt clean except for a sticky floor. Just know that the price reflects a mediocre facility. If you are ok with that, the staff was very welcoming .

It’s a unique facility and has been around a long while. I’d say it is a bit dated though the bed was comfortable and it was pretty clean. The staff are very welcoming, helpful, and efficient. We ate at the bar and grill that has replaced the original that burned a few years ago. The staff was, again, great, and the food pretty good. I just don’t care for meals served on paper plates with plastic utensils. The live music was good and made the meal more fun.
