This a great hotel conveniently located in the heart of Monterey. It is walking distance to a bunch of restaurants. I really enjoyed a relaxing time in Monterey at Hotel Pacific.

Staff were great especially front desk. Room needs major updates and cleaning. Vents have thick dust and looks like haven't clean for years. Toilet sit wobbly. Not enough plates, glasses, utensils, toilet paper, dining chairs. If you check in 4 adults in the room, should be at least 4 chairs, 4 plates, 4 pairs of utensils and enough toiletries. We are 4 adults and only provided 3 towels. Patio is big but we couldn’t hang out there because spider webs everywhere and only 2 chairs available. TV is very old. We can’t even get a local channels. WiFi never works or just too weak. Duvet cover has ripped on it. Not enough pillows and very uncomfortable. Room phone not even sure if it works because I tried to call front desk and just static noise I heard. Breakfast is ok. Not happy about it Great location. Short walk to Fisherman’s wharf and downtown.

Several lights were non functional. Both doors in the room lacked adequate sealing and therefore the room was extremely drafty. Tiles on the walkway in front of the room were dangerously broken and people were tripping. Parking was expensive. Door to toilet and shower was broken. Exterior doors to building would be closed and locked, and key cards would not allow access. Would have expected much better from this facility. The lobby and housekeeping staff, however, were very polite, and helpful

Just stayed one night but our room was so adorable and the courtyards were lovely. The breakfast in the morning was simple but perfect for us with a small kid who primarily survives off cereal and muffins. Appreciated the onsite parking. Close walk to restaurants and quick drive to Aquarium and Cannery Row.

had reserved a room for four weeks in advance (so you had plenty of time to inform me if there were any issues). Upon checking in, I was told by the staff that the room was located on the 4th floor and that the elevator had been out of service for some time due to a mechanical issue. I asked if they could move us, but was told there was no other room available. One of the travelers had undergone a full knee replacement on both knees, and we had a lot of luggage. I asked for help, and an employee showed up to help carry two pieces upstairs, then disappeared. The next morning, I called the office and asked to be moved because I didn’t want the person with knee replacements to have to walk up and down to the fourth floor. After a long conversation and being told the best they could do was refund the remaining nights, they finally agreed to move us to the other side of the building, where the elevator was working. I asked for help with moving the luggage, and they said they would send someone to assist me. After waiting forty minutes, no one showed up, so we carried everything over. Other than this, there were puddles of water in the hallways that could have easily caused slips and falls, the trash bins in common areas were overflowing, and there were only two sets of towels in a room reserved for four people. I stayed at Hotel Pacific several years ago and had a pleasant experience, which is why I came back. Unfortunately, this is not the same hotel as before.

At the time of booking, it was mentioned that the room included a fireplace. However, the room assigned to me had a fireplace that was only for display and not functional. I contacted the front desk regarding this, and a staff member informed me that the fireplace was not working. Clarifying this information at the time of booking would help avoid confusion for future guests.

I only my husband tried the breakfast options. I don’t really have a review. Since it was stormy during our stay, thee was lots of water and puddles in the hallways and steps. Elevator didn’t seem to work its best and since childish g is old the doors and windows had gaps that brought in outside air. Love the style of the building though which is why I picked this hotel. Overall our stay was good

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A spotless hotel with real soul I first stayed at Hotel Pacific 30 years ago and returned this Christmas after also staying at another local hotel over Thanksgiving. I’m happy to say Hotel Pacific still has something increasingly rare: a genuine sense of place and soul. Our suite was beautifully laid out with a gas fireplace, roll-out sofa, nested coffee tables, four armchairs, and a small glass dining table. The living space was generous, with great lighting options, outlets everywhere, strong free Wi-Fi (no login), very comfortable beds 😴, and TV with HBO. The huge bathroom opens into the suite with locking shutters, a long vanity, soaking tub, and a separate glass-and-terracotta shower. The architecture is extraordinary: a terraced, secret-garden labyrinth built into the hillside, with fountains, quiet nooks, and private patios or balconies. Even in heavy rain, the property felt calm, cozy, and welcoming. In better weather, I can only imagine how magical the outdoor spaces, private hot tub, and fire pit are. In addition to the super-convenient in and out hotel garage, the terraced design makes second-floor rooms accessible by van via rear ramp access and elevators for those with mobility issues. Short walk to historic, lively Alvarado Street with restaurants and a pharmacy nearby. Staff were kind and welcoming. It helps to verify details on the website or call at the 4 pm check-in hour if something is important to you. We would absolutely stay here again!🔥⛲️🌿

Room was spotless and we love having the fireplace which makes it cozy. However it does not appear to be very busy (maybe because it’s Christmas) yet we were put in a room with the only windows in the room facing walls with no view and very little natural light. On previous visits we were given rooms with a street view and balcony. Perhaps we were given this dreary room because we brought our little dog?

The room was brilliant! Very spacious and clean. We didn't use the fireplace but it was a perfect rainy Christmas holidays. Balcony was awesome for getting a cool ocean breeze and bathroom was really nice ans spacious. We had a great time!!

I highly recommend this place for its location — it’s very beautiful and clean. The value for money is good. I would improve the breakfast, as there aren’t many options, but overall it’s fine. The hot tub is small and outdoors, but it works well.

The roll over sofa is like you sleeping on the rocks. They need to put a new one 💯. There was no shampoo at all. For people of 3 it only 1 towel. And yes I definitely can go and ask ,no problem, but do I have to??? I think if I pay for something, I would like to have it. I don't think I have to point out to people about something that need to be done when hotel was setting up our room.

We have stayed at the HP for years….always a favorite. One highlight has always been the expansive hot breakfast. We were VERY disappointed this time and might reconsider future stays. The breakfast was stripped down and minimal with just cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, and bread. Very disappointed. We even planned on the typical hearty breakfast when making our itinerary. Very disappointed.

For the money you pay you can better breakfast and other service. You go to an hotel to relax not to get stressed. Breakfast was felt like Motel 6 or 8. The lift was broken and they have given us a room on 4th floor. I had to carry 2 suite-cases all by myself. The internet was broken throughout our stay. They was a puddle of water just outside our room.
