Good hotel very well located: It is at walking distance from Montignac’s old town and Lascaux IV. Spacious, free parking, and clean. No frills hotel, but a very good value for money.
Very nice staff, extremely responsive and great value for our room.

I like that you were 5 minutes walk away from montignac town centre.
The rooms are compact, bathroom small, breakfast is continental..croissants, choc au pan, cereal, toast, bread , ham and cheese.
Outside facilities were very much needed after a day sightseeing. Swimming pool and sitting outside the pool area.
When reception is blosed you have to find another way to get to the pool and outside area.

It is hard rating small European hotels because they are usually in old buildings in older parts of the city. This was the case here. It was on a main street going into the town and there was no A/C. Fortunately for us, it was a cooler night and we could leave the window open (no screens, of course), but the morning traffic woke us very early.
The property was clean, the staff friendly, the breakfast adequate, but no one was on duty overnight. The pillows and mattress were quite hard but the shower was hot with good water pressure. As with most of these older hotels, probably built at least 200 years ago, the room was small; but there were enough shelves and hanging space to meet the needs of our one-night stay..
Unfortunately, 2 out of 3 nights we were there, there was some event happening across the bridge, and the loud music was going on till the end of night. But since we were in the family room, I was able to go into the second part of the room with the bunkbed and sleep there.
Apart from that it was great. They have the AC, the window and TV on the adult side of the room, and on the kids side was kinda in another room, with some privacy but no doors in between. My son was elated with the room. It had a small desk and his own TV.
The garden was large and awesome, with a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, lounging chairs, ping-pong table, a place to park bike, a tables to eat. The breakfast buffet was good.
There is free parking spaces one minute walk away.
The town is beautiful. Hotel is near the beautiful river, perfect for a walk, and to go to restaurants etc. There is kayaking place just across the river.
I absolutely recommend this place, especially if you want to visit Lascaux IV. You can walk there from the hotel.
The only thing to note is that though they give an opening and closing time for the swimming pool and jacuzzi, at the opening time they were only starting to set them up (cleaning, etc). So that even an hour after the opening time, the jacuzzi still wasn't warm.
So don't expect to have a dip in the morning before going somewhere.
All in all, I recommend. I would go there again - I would just check for any night festival happening, and not book on the same date.
Room was comfortable enough. The hotel is well situated. Staff/owner are not smily but nice enough. The huge downside was the air conditioning, outdated, so noisy we couldn't sleep but so hot that you couldn't sleep without it on!
