"Central location in an artsy and less touristy neighborhood. 5 minutes from metro and surrounded by local cafes and eateries! Very clean room and nice staff. They were very kind and accommodating about my earlier arrival, and have luggage storage with personal keys for free. The room was very clean and it was nice to be able to open a window for fresh air and to have a mini fridge and nice size bathroom. "This is my second review of this place because we actually stayed here twice. We took a short trip to Milos and asked the staff to hold our bags so we didn't have to carry much. Not only were they accommodating, but they put our luggage in the new room when we returned. Can't recommend this place enough!!!"

"We really enjoyed our stay at The Modernist. The hotel is in a quiet and lovely part of Athens, though very quick and easy to visit the main attractions from here. Breakfast was fabulous and staff all friendly and helpful. Kolonaki has many great non-touristy restaurants too. Would highly recommend. "

"Standard hostel. Felt like Unsafe area. Dark and sketchy. Not on the main road. Had to take some twists and turns to get there. Far from the Acropolis. Not within walking distance you would have to take a bus or train. No views of anything. First pic is the view outside of the tiny window in the room. Beds were comfortable. I got bit up by some bugs my guess were mosquitoes (I’m hoping not bedbugs) because I left the window open, it was stuffy and hot in the room I needed ventilation."

We contacted front desk (who went home before it was resolved) and the out of hours phone number suggested we open the windows… and said they would try to contact maintenance… with no resolution."
