This place has excellent staff, amazing delicious breakfast. Courteous staff members who try their best to make you feel welcome. I stayed in their main building, we had 3 single bed room. It was supposed to be a good room facing the street. it was spacious but run down, dirty curtains half hanging, so dirty i didnt even want to touch them. Very tiny bathroom no window. I have stayed here in the past but not in their main building but in their next door building which is more developed and modern. I would highly recommend staying in their nextdoor building. And yes i would come stay here again.

Good location in Fort area

Great stay for a few nights. We were joining a cruise and the hotel is located close to port (7 min journey by car). Staff are very attentive. Great Masala Dosa for breakfast. Hotel is walking distance to many restaurants and gateway to India approx 25 min walk. Rooms were adequate for our stay.

Comfortable stay in South Mumbai

The hotel is very conveniently located in Fort area. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Decent buffet breakfast serving Indian and continental food.

Hotel well located to explore Mumbai, and customer service was exceptional. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, always asking if anything was needed. I would definitely recommend and will stay there again if I make it back to Mumbai.

Wonderful stay

I really enjoyed our stay here. The service was excellent. The hotel breakfast was fantastic with eggs made to order available, as well as barista made coffee, and all the usual breakfast items. The room was clean and comfortable, with dove soap and shampoo available. The hotel itself is sliiightly dated but it was still a lovely stay and wonderful by Indian standards. Bathroom had good hot water.

Really good standard of accommodation in superb position for walkable trips around Mumbai tourist areas. Metro works nearby to the hotel are on going but didn't really affect sleep. Helpful and friendly staff and the section that we were in (next door to the main entrance, so rooms start with a 7), had recently been refurbished. Try nearby Burma Burma for a too notch meal.

Nice hotel. Good for the price

Nice hotel. Good price. Romms a.big small but ok. Only issues was that I booked a twin room and they gave me a double bed. But provided a single mattress. Although area was quiet, there is no sound proofing so I could hear wat was going on outside. Staff were great and very helpful

Cannot recommend enough. The staff are the most adorable and kindest people. So welcoming and friendly. Very clean. Basic but simple, no frills and perfect for a rest and shower after a day sightseeing. Complimentary breakfast buffet was delicious. Six weeks travelling in India, best service and lovely cosy hotel. Convenient location in the Fort area of Mumbai.

The Residency was a great stay. The staff was so amazing and they treated me like royalty. They let me check in early in the morning when I arrived. They gave me a beautiful room as an upgrade with beautiful marble floors, huge bed, great A/C. They always took care of me, opened doors, helped with luggage etc... The breakfast there was amazing and complementary and I loved it. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

The property is in a good location for walking. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. The only issue we had was noise from construction that was outside our window and impacted our sleep. I recommend bringing earplugs with you.

Residency hotel fort made for a very pleasant and comfortable stay - I would wholeheartedly recommend this for numerous reasons. The accommodation was very comfortable in terms of the beds, washroom and AC facilities; the location of this accommodation was perfect being right next to the central railway station - we were able to easily walk to a few nearby points of interest. The buffet breakfast was delectable with a chef on hand to make omelettes and dosa on request. The staff at this hotel went above and beyond in terms helping each of the residents at the hotel; we can not thank them enough for making our stay all the more enjoyable - a special mention goes to Rajesh and Gopal who were located in reception and were always on hand to help us with any queries that we had. One more point...there is an egg bhurji street fod vendor located right outside the hotel - this is without doubt, the best egg bhurji you will ever taste!

Superb. All the basics as you'd hope - attractive, comfortable rooms, great shower, excellent AC etc. Plus this is amongst the best service I've had anywhere in the world. Staff all super friendly and helpful - actively working to try and anticipate your needs and invariably getting it right. Care taken with pleasing small details and the hotel's policy is clearly to be generous, with a complementary treat never far away. Breakfast also excellent with dosas and eggs cooked to order and a wide range of other buffet options. This place was a Mumbai highlight, and hope to return some time soon.

Wonderful stay in n Mumbai

After reading various reviews about the hotel we decided to book and we are so glad we did. The hotel is in a great spot being walkable to the fort area. All of the staff are truly amazing, never have we been so welcomed and looked after. Nothing was to much trouble. The breakfast was lovely, having a choice of freshly cooked eggs and toast along with many more options. We had a very quiet room in the 3rd block I believe. We would definitely recommend you choosing the hotel. I'm.sure you will come away feeling as we have!

My husband and I stayed at the Residency Hotel for 4 nights and had a superb experience. The location is excellent. It is in the old part of Mumbai and well known sites are within pleasant walking distance. These include the Gate of India and Taj Mahal Hotel, Leopoldo's Cafe, Marine Drive, and Chatrapatti Shivaji Maharaj train station. There are plenty of restaurants in the area as well as interesting neighborhoods to explore. The staff at the hotel were warm and welcoming and very helpful. Roshan at the front desk was great and helped to arrange tour guides. One offered a city tour (we highly recommend this) as well as a guided tour to Elephanta Island (also highly recommended). The other staff were excellent as well including Salmin who greeted us as we went to our room which was large and very pleasant. The bed was king size and comfortable. Every aspect of our stay was positive and we highly recommend it.

Residency’s reception staff – Lawrence, Peter, Sushant, Mr.Patil, Toral & others are extremely accommodating. The Hotel's motto is 'Come as a guest, leave as a friend' & while leaving, I did feel I was waving goodbye to a friend! Keshav’s addressing me Madamji and waiting on me from day1 at breakfast time & evening Masala Chai times was service with a smile & a good heart! Balwant too was a gem! The Complimentary breakfast with Chef Girish in charge is indeed very sumptuous & caters for all tastes & appetites. I mustn’t forget the ever helpful & courteous Rajesh - If you needed transport, Rajesh would very kindly help you book it or hail it! Room necessities like loo rolls, fresh towels, bottles of water were always readily available thanks to cleaners Saahil & Shivam! I could have stayed with relatives but I wanted to experience Mumbai as a tourist and Residency proved to be the right choice for me for a comfortable, safe & a very happy stay; a longer stay than most guests – 14 days!

Disappointed this time

I have stayed at this hotel several times before and they are always nice, attentive and accommodating. Same this time. However, there were two things that brought down the rating this time. One was that I was given room 2 0 8 which is right next to the Metro building. I asked straight away if it would be disturbing at night. Oh no was the answer. In mid night I was woken up by the noise due to the Metro building and it continued for a few hours. The next day I was allowed to change rooms and they upgraded me to the suite free of charge. Which of course was nicely done! But they should never have sold room I got at first. The other thing that happened was that I barely had time to land before I had a scam message saying that my payment had not gone through. All my booking details were in the scam message. I have contacted the hotel about this but have not even received a response. Sad because I actually like this hotel but the fact that they do not take the fact that they were hacked seriously made me book another hotel next trip.
