"Our family stayed at the Mercure Hotel for our entire two week trip, so we were thankful it turned out to be a great choice. The staff was consistently courteous and attentive. Housekeeping was top notch, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness each day. The beds were super comfortable and the room was spacious and well laid out. The one thing I would note is that the door to the bathroom is made of partially clear glass and doesn’t lock; we had to create a make-shift contraption for the door to give ourselves and kids a bit more privacy. But that probably won’t be a concern for many. There is also no tub, just an open shower, but we did appreciate that the bathroom was quite spacious. Only shampoo, body wash, and hand soap are provided but there is a mini store near the hotel lobby where other necessities are available for purchase.
The location is very convenient if you plan to use public transportation. Mercure is a quick walk from Sloterdijk, the major station one stop away from Amsterdam Centraal. There are a bunch of restaurants right around the area, some open until 10:00 pm. There is also a full supermarket across from the hotel where you’ll find toiletry, food, beverage, and snack items. The hotel room doesn’t have a microwave, but it does have a mini fridge and water boiler.
Overall, Mercure Hotel worked out fantastically well for our family and I’d be glad to visit again."
