I stayed at Hotel Bonalba at the beginning of December as a short getaway with my husband. While the hotel is located in a beautiful area, it is very inconvenient if you want to visit the city centre, with Uber trips costing around €30 each way.
Unfortunately, our overall experience was disappointing. The lifts felt unsafe, as the doors close immediately when the first person steps inside, and there are no cameras in the lifts or outside the rooms, which made us feel uneasy. The hotel also seemed very understaffed, and many staff members did not speak English, making communication difficult.
As a vegetarian, I found the food options extremely limited. On our last night, dinner was particularly poor due to a large group of around 90 people attending a sports event. Guests who were not part of this group were placed in a small corner while staff focused almost entirely on serving the group. This felt very unfair, especially as we had paid for an all-inclusive package and expected equal service. It’s also worth noting that the all-inclusive package does not include the minibar or snacks such as crisps, which was disappointing.
Overall, this stay was a big let-down and a waste of money. I would not return to this hotel nor recommend it to others.
