"Beautiful hotel in picturesque Wansford. What a lovely location, quaint village. Walks by the riverside and a fantastic facility. Both dinner & breakfast were great, great choice of wines and beers at the bar. Lovely outside area to sit and take in the atmosphere. I'd imagine a great wedding reception could be had here. Lots of outside space including a large marquee whilst I was there. Shout out Thomas who was nothing less than a perfect host in the bar. Can't recommend this gem enough."

"Front desk staff and restaurant were rather unfriendly and borderline rude. Room wasn’t very clean Expected more amenities in the room eg fridge Spa area was good but floors around pool very slippery and changing rooms floors soaking wet. More regular checking and cleaning. Pub and kitchen staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful Breakfast staff need better training with regards to hospitality etiquette and not handling cutlery and crockery where guests would be placing their mouths I was still eating breakfast and drinking my coffee and staff were trying to clear my plates and removed saucer whilst I was drinking my coffee "

"Superb hotel full of character. Our room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We dined in the restaurant and were very impressed with the choice offered particularly for my husband who is coeliac and has to have gluten free. Every member of staff we engaged with were so polite and friendly. Our stay was an absolute delight."

"This is a difficult review to write, the hotel cancelled the reservation at 12:17 on the day, 2 hours 43 minutes before check-in. The reason, a room being renovated had not been completed. This was extremely frustrating as the hotel had been contacted directly during the week to confirm the reservation and to discuss specific arrangements regarding the stay and the implications should there be a problem. Contacted Expedia Group, you can only call an American number, who were useless. Contacted the hotel discussed with a person (who I am unable to name, who was excellent) the conversation earlier in the week, she was excellent. called back 20 minutes later and confirmed that she had reinstated the reservation. The hotel is great, the staff in the hotel were excellent, the facilities cannot be faulted, it is just a shame that someone at the hotel believes it is acceptable to cancel a reservation at the last minute and damage the reputation of this establishment."
