"First time staying here. Very nice, new building. Only a 8 minute walk to the lakeshore which we really liked. Room was very clean, staff was friendly. Will be back next summer!"

"Room was large- clearly renovated to make 2 rooms into one. Two full bathrooms which is a bonus when 3 women are travelling together! Nice layout. Corner room so very quiet. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Grounds are meticulously maintained and beautiful. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Haven’t been here for a number of years but it was nice to be back! Would stay here again "

"Great, clean, quiet hotel. Lacks parking. Parking stalls are not very big and there isn’t enough spots to park. Had to park way down the alley and come out through the night to check on truck. They don’t require a parking pass to stay at this motel so it appears ppl park there that are not staying at the hotel."

"This was our first time staying at Golden Sands! Doug was there to welcome us when we checked in. He made us feel like family the second we entered the office. He was kind and had tons of suggestions for restaurants. He was personable and chatted with my six-year-old, who immediately became a big fan of his :). He was helpful and attentive our entire trip. Thank you so much, Doug! I also left my hair straightener behind, and Doug went above and beyond to get it and mail it to me on his own...

"It’s a very old motel that has been cared with love. Great for those who need a roof, bed and shower overnight. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The best check in check out experience "

"Lovely rooms overlooking the vinyard and the lake. 15 min walk to the beach, uphill coming back though! Great breakfast, with yogurt, buns, juice and fruit. Coffee and tea available, and a fridge and microwave for your use in a shared kitchenette area. Winery and tastings downstairs."

"Pleasant surprise. The hotel was built in the 1960s but the interiors have all been refurbished. Location was right on the lake with private access to the beach. Very clean."
